National Wellness Week takes place during the third week of September across communities throughout the US. During National Wellness Week, the White Plains Youth Bureau seeks to inspire individuals & families to improve their health behaviors, while also exploring their talents, skills, interests, social connections, and environment to incorporate the Eight Dimensions of Wellness into their lives as part of a holistic lifestyle. National Wellness Week’s overarching theme every year is LIVING WELLNESS, to emphasize that no matter which dimension of wellness we focus on, or our differing abilities, the ultimate goal is to live well—within our and communities. The theme also shows that wellness is not static or finite; rather, it’s a continuous journey.
The White Plains Family Day of Wellness is aimed at educating, raising awareness and engaging the community to improve their overall wellness to multi-generational (children, pre-teens/teens, adults) and diverse audiences throughout Westchester County. It features a host of wellness practitioners and activities and includes live stage dance and musical performances, interactive fitness bootcamp, karate/fencing demos, a fun zone for kids, healthy food and so much more!
